National PostDocs Awareness Week is an international event aimed at thanking and highlighting PostDocs from around the world for their invaluable work. Our client, N8 Research Partnership is a network for 8 northern universities (Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, York, Sheffield, Newcastle, Durham and Lancaster) all of whom rely on their numerous PostDocs.
We devised the #N8PostDocs campaign, to coincide with the National PostDoc Appreciate Week and to highlight and celebrate the research talent across the N8 partner universities and programmes.
We created a campaign toolkit including a ‘Thank You’ graphic and poster was created and circulated across the N8 university communications teams and academics to drive participation with the campaign.

These assets were also hosted as downloadable files on the N8 website as part of a blog piece, which we pushed out on social media channels to pre-promote the campaign week, and drive wider engagement online. We also scored a feature blog about the campaign placed in the Fuse Open Science blog – a key piece of readership for our target audience.
The campaign drove a total of 412 original posts across Twitter and LinkedIn, plus an additional 864 posts that were retweets, meaning overall a total of 1,276 posts we shared during the campaing period of 9-21 September 2019. The social media results also helped increase web traffic too, with an increase of 52% in web visits month on month.

“The eye-catching and original toolkit generated by Influential enabled people to participate in ways that were comfortable for them, showing gratitude for their colleagues and promoting the N8 universities as great places to do research.”
