Sara’s appointment to the Board completes a highly successful year for Influential, which has experienced significant growth over the past 12 months with a 158% increase in profits and a raft of significant client appointments.
As one of the UK’s most senior media figures having held key management positions across national and regional media for over two decades, Sara will bring a wealth of industry expertise to the LEP Board.
She has been Chair of Liverpool’s Visitor Economy Board, the City Region’s strategic body for tourism development, since 2013 and earlier this year was appointed as Liverpool City Region Mayoral Advisor to Steve Rotherham on Visitor Economy.
The Liverpool City Region LEP was created in 2012 to bring together businesses and civic leaders to drive private-sector led growth and job creation. The LEP Board provides strategic insight and guidance to the Combined Authority on the economic challenges and opportunities facing the City Region.
Asif Hamid MBE, Chair of the LEP said: “The LEP continues to attract the highest calibre of business leaders from across the private sector, so I am delighted to welcome Sara to join the Board.”
“The depth, diversity and wealth of Sara’s experience will be a tremendous asset to us and we all look and forward to working with her to drive the economy forward.”
Sara Wilde-McKeown, Influential managing director, said: “I am so pleased to be joining the LEP Board at such an important point in the city region’s economic development.
“The Visitor Economy is crucial to the city region’s economic success, creating thousands of additional jobs and business opportunities as a result of our national and international visitor appeal.
“However, it is also key to the wider attractiveness of the city region as a place to live, work, study and invest and I look forward to working with the LEP Board to ensure we maximise the wider benefits that the visitor economy can bring.”
