The Dungeons are one of Merlin Entertainments’ international attractions with locations in London, York, Edinburgh, Shanghai, Amsterdam and San Francisco.
During the 60 minute immersive experience, visitors to the Dungeons take a step back in time but all in a fun and exciting way.
Influential is tasked with raising brand awareness for its Blackpool Dungeon attraction in the local, regional and national press, in addition to broadcast media.
Focussing on the fun element, we create integrated campaigns which are guaranteed to get people talking and spark intrigue with national journalists at the same time.
We work closely with the Dungeon team to create media spikes around key trading times for the attraction, from media stunts with multimedia elements to interactive and engaging press releases, we produce excellent copy that cuts through to the Dungeons’ key audiences. It is a balancing act, trying to uphold the brand’s desire to be irreverent while not crossing into a negative light.
Our work has seen The Blackpool Tower Dungeon discussed in national media including The Daily Mirror, Daily Star and MailOnline as well as being talked about on Sky News. It has also been recognised internally for having the best PR story of 2018 across all of its Dungeon attractions internationally. This related to a ‘Gingers Go Free’ story during the summer heatwave. This was achieved by taking advantage of the media’s interest in the national soaring temperatures while “poking fun” at those who allegedly get sunburnt easily. This achieved widespread coverage in both the national and regional media.
