Shaping the future of major trauma

Shaping the future of major trauma for NHS England

  • Stakeholder engagement

Brief

We were entrusted with the critical task of engaging key stakeholders in Greater Manchester to gather their insights and opinions on potential changes to the Major Trauma structure.

Challenge

The challenge was to engage and elicit meaningful input from key stakeholders regarding potential changes to the Major Trauma structure.

We needed to ensure that the voices of the community, including the general public, Healthwatch, CCGs, clinicians, and service users, were heard and considered in the decision-making process.

To gain a deeper understanding of public sentiment, we conducted focus groups with members of the public. These sessions provided invaluable insights into their views and concerns surrounding the proposed changes.

Furthermore, we organised a key stakeholder day, bringing together representatives from Healthwatch, CCGs, clinicians, and service users. This collaborative event served as a platform for engagement, enabling stakeholders to provide feedback, share their perspectives, and contribute to the decision-making process.

Results

The outcome was a robust set of prioritised key issues, segmented by engagement groups, which were presented to NHS England.

The feedback gathered through our focus groups and stakeholder engagement day played a pivotal role in shaping the onward communication strategy.

By actively involving stakeholders and incorporating their perspectives, we ensured that the voice of the community was integrated into the decision-making process, leading to a more inclusive and informed approach.
